Wright's Gourmet House, the South Tampa sandwich shop and bakery that has operated from a single location since 1963, is coming to Wesley Chapel. Owner Caspers Company announced Monday, July 20, that it plans to open a new Wright's at State Road 56 and La Juana Road in summer 2028.
The Wesley Chapel outpost will be the brand's first location outside South Tampa in its 63-year history.
Caspers Company described the new location as a gourmet market concept. According to the announcement reported by WFLA, the market will carry Wright's signature bucket bread, candies, cinnamon roll kits, salad dressings, and icing by the pint, along with branded retail, merchandise, and party accessories.
A second new location at 328 Brandon Town Center Drive is also planned, with a summer 2027 opening, according to the same announcement.
Caspers Company said in its statement that new locations "will carry forward the original Marjorie Wright recipes, standards, and service culture that have always defined the brand."
Caspers Company, led by siblings Blake Casper and Allison Casper Adams, acquired Wright's from longtime owner Jeff Mount in 2024. The Tampa-based, third-generation family company also operates Oxford Exchange, The Stovall House, and Casa Cami under its Oxford Commons hospitality brand. Before pivoting to hospitality, the Casper family operated 60 McDonald's locations in the Tampa Bay area, selling them in 2022.
Wright's was founded by Marjorie and Pete Wright on April 20, 1963, in a small South Tampa storefront at 1200 S. Dale Mabry Highway. Mount, the founders' grandson, purchased the business in 1981 and grew the staff from eight to 60 over four decades. When the sale to Caspers Company was announced in June 2024, Mount said it had been his "pleasure and honor to have built upon my grandparents' legacy."
No building permits or Pasco County site plan filings for the Wesley Chapel location have appeared in public records. The company has not disclosed square footage or a specific retail center name for the SR-56 site. The only confirmed timeline is the summer 2028 target opening.
