Wiregrass Ranch's Raheem Fashola intercepted two passes and returned one for a touchdown in the Bulls' 41-0 shutout of Sunlake on Friday, Sept. 25, according to the football program.
The road win in Land O' Lakes kept Wiregrass Ranch atop the 5A District 7 standings at 2-0. Land O' Lakes also entered this week unbeaten in district play at 2-0, according to MaxPreps.
The Wiregrass Ranch football program's official account on X highlighted Fashola's performance the day after the game, crediting the defensive player with two interceptions and a pick-six. MaxPreps credited the Bulls' defense with three interceptions in the game.
The 41-0 result was the Bulls' first shutout of 2026.
Defense delivers again in district play
Fashola's performance continued a strong start to district play for the Wiregrass Ranch defense.
In the Bulls' Sept. 11 district opener against Wesley Chapel, the defense helped power a 52-7 win. Head coach Mark Kantor praised the unit afterward.
"I'm real happy with our defense, we played a great game," Kantor said after the Sept. 11 victory, as reported by the Tampa Bay Beacons.
Two weeks later against Sunlake, the defense held the Seahawks scoreless.
The shutout improved Wiregrass Ranch's overall record to 2-3. The Bulls opened the season with losses to South Sumter, 24-21 on Aug. 21, and Berkeley Prep, 36-7 on Sept. 4. They won their district opener against Wesley Chapel before falling to Plant City 19-0 on Sept. 18 and bouncing back with the win over
