Florida's Sports Coast, the organization that markets Pasco County as a sports destination and manages Wesley Chapel's Wiregrass Ranch Sports Campus, announced Wednesday, July 15, that it earned accreditation from the Destination Marketing Accreditation Program.
The credential, administered by Washington, D.C.-based Destinations International, is held by fewer than 200 organizations worldwide and 23 in Florida. It certifies that an organization meets or exceeds nearly 100 industry standards spanning governance, visitor services, technology, and long-term planning.
Florida's Sports Coast oversees the 98,000-square-foot Wiregrass Ranch Sports Campus at 3021 Sports Coast Way, which hosts basketball, volleyball, flag football, and other amateur tournaments throughout the year. The campus is a member club of the Florida Region of USA Volleyball.
Executive Director Adam Thomas said the accreditation reflects collaboration across Pasco County government and the organization's commitment to serving event organizers and visiting athletes.
The Wiregrass Ranch Sports Campus is closed for renovation through Monday, August 10.
