The Wesley Chapel Black Chamber of Commerce is opening registration for a strategic roundtable aimed at helping women business owners step back from daily operations and focus on growing their companies.

The "Women Rising Together: Bold Voices & Vision" session takes place Tuesday, Aug. 11, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Lake Michigan Credit Union, 17635 Bruce B. Downs Blvd., Tampa. Registration costs $20 for WCBCC members and $25 for nonmembers, according to the chamber's event page. Seating is limited.

The August roundtable is the fourth installment in the series, which has run monthly since the chamber launched earlier this year. The July 14 session sold out, according to WCBCC's LinkedIn page. That event featured Angela K. Davis, founder of She Reigns LLC and She Reigns Legacy Institute Inc., speaking on financial literacy and economic empowerment. An earlier session brought in Christina Jones of Christina Jones Studio to discuss personal branding.

Unlike those speaker-driven events, the August session will be facilitated directly by WCBCC staff. The chamber describes it as a chance for attendees to "pause, reflect, share challenges and focus on the one role that as women in business we often push down to the bottom of our list — being a business owner."

The WCBCC held its grand opening in late March and has built programming around its mission of supporting Black and minority-owned businesses in Pasco County. Founding board member Chad Cooper told Bay News 9 in December that the chamber was created to fill gaps in services available to local business owners.

"It's critical to have an organization like ours that's out here looking out for the best interest of those Black businesses in the community," Cooper said. "That's not to say that only Black businesses are able to join the organization, but it's critical to make sure that when opportunities arise that those Black businesses in the community have a seat at the table."

Lake Michigan Credit Union serves as the series' regular community partner and host venue, according to WCBCC social media posts.

Nonmembers who register at the $25 rate can also join the chamber to access member pricing on future events. WCBCC membership starts at $75 for students and young professionals, with an established-entrepreneur tier at $350 a year.
