Wesley Chapel residents have a packed slate of free and ticketed events between Aug. 21 and Sept. 5, with Pasco County schools now in their second week and families settling into fall routines.
Here's what's coming, according to Tampa Bay Beacons and local venue listings.
Friday, Aug. 21
Senior Social starts at 3 p.m. at B&B Theatres Wesley Chapel, 6333 Wesley Grove Blvd. The weekly gathering offers free card games for adults 50 and older, with instruction available for all games. Food and drinks are available for purchase.
Karaoke Nights runs 7 to 9 p.m. at the Shops at Wiregrass Center Court, 28211 Paseo Drive. The free monthly event, held every third Friday, invites singers and spectators alike. Nearby eateries offer food and drinks, and organizers recommend bringing lawn chairs or blankets.
Comedian Subhah Agarwal takes the stage at 7:30 p.m. at Side Splitters Comedy Club at the Grove, 6333 Wesley Grove Blvd. Agarwal has written for Netflix's "Arsenio! Live," Comedy Central's "The Jim Jefferies Show" and TruTV's "Comedy Knockout." A second show runs Saturday, Aug. 22, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available at sidesplitterscomedy.com.
Tuesday, Aug. 25
Social Fun Night runs 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Falabella Family Bistro, 6027 Wesley Grove Blvd., Suite 105. Wesley Chapel Elks Lodge #2893 hosts the evening, which is open to the public.
Thursday, Aug. 27
Seeds of Knowledge: Disaster and Hurricane Preparedness runs 11 a.m. to noon in the meeting room at the Wesley Chapel Branch library, 27531 Mystic Oak Blvd. Pasco County Emergency Management staff will present information and resources on storm readiness, according to the Pasco County library system's event page. The talk is part of a countywide push; a similar session was held at New River Branch on Aug. 18.
Saturday, Aug. 29
The Wesley Chapel Branch, managed by Julia Shepherd, hosts a PBS Kids Workshop on emergency preparedness for families with children ages 4 to 8 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at 27531 Mystic Oak Blvd. Space is limited and registration is required through the Pasco County library system.
Looking ahead: early September
The Market Elaine returns to The Grove at Wesley Chapel, 6013 Wesley Grove Blvd., on Friday, Sept. 4, from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. The monthly market brings more than 150 vendors, live music at KRATE, pet adoptions, kids activities and food and drinks. It is typically held the first Friday of each month, according to North Tampa Buzz.
Fresh Market at Wiregrass fills Paseo Drive at The Shops at Wiregrass on Saturday, Sept. 5, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. More than 50 vendors offer locally grown produce, take-home foods, local art and eco-friendly products. The market runs the first and third Saturday of each month.
Also on Sept. 5: the Downtown Saturday Market at Avalon Park Wesley Chapel, 4424 Friendly Way, runs 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with gifts, baked goods, home decor and local small businesses. And the Tampa Bay Ukulele Society hosts a free jam session noon to 2 p.m. at New River Library, 34043 State Road 54.
