Wesley Chapel parents juggling three or four separate apps to manage their kids' school lives now have one: Pasco One, a free district-built platform that consolidates lunch payments, bus routes, grades, attendance and school forms into a single login.

Pasco County Schools rolled out the app ahead of the Thursday, Aug. 13 first day of school, giving families a few days to set up accounts and confirm transportation details before buses run.

"We also have a new app called Pasco One where parents can log in and do all their interaction with the school district, all the forms they need to fill out, all their payments, so they don't have to go to multiple apps," Superintendent Dr. John Legg told Bay News 9 on Friday, Aug. 7.

The app is an upgraded version of the district's previous MyStudent platform. It also replaces MySchoolBucks, a national lunch-payment app that charged families $3.50 per student per deposit. For a household with three children depositing weekly, that fee added up to roughly $42 a month, according to WUSF. Pasco One's built-in ONE Wallet feature carries no transaction fee.

The app is free.

School board member Jessica Jecusco-Wright first proposed ditching MySchoolBucks in January 2026 after hearing from parents about the costs. She told WUSF that early feedback on Pasco One has been positive, with families excited they no longer need to navigate multiple platforms before the school year begins.

Transportation and safety

The app's transportation tab lets parents view bus route and stop information, a feature that takes on added weight as the district opens a dedicated bus hotline on Monday, Aug. 10. Together, the two tools give families three days to verify pickup locations and times before the first bell.

Legg acknowledged at a June school board meeting, as reported by WUSF, that the rollout may hit some bumps. He said the district's tech team worked hard to launch on time and plans to keep improving the app based on family feedback.

How to sign up

Pasco One is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play. Parents log in with their existing Parent Portal credentials. Those without an account can create one at the district's official page.

As we reported July 31, the district earned its first "A" grade since 2009 heading into the new school year. The bus hotline and Pasco One app are the district's latest tools for keeping families connected as classes resume Aug. 13.
