Incoming freshmen at Cypress Creek High School will get their first taste of campus life July 30, when the school hosts "Howlapalooza," a morning orientation built around team-building, campus tours and free spirit gear for the Class of 2030.
Drop-off begins at 8:45 a.m. in the gym at 8701 Old Pasco Road. The student session runs from 9 a.m. to noon, and students must arrive by 9:30 a.m. and stay through the end of the event. Pickup is at noon in the gym.
Parents and guardians have their own session from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. in the cafeteria, according to the school's announcement posted July 20.

A growing school, a growing class
Cypress Creek High, which opened in 2017 to relieve overcrowding in Wesley Chapel's booming east Pasco corridor, has seen enrollment climb steadily from 1,546 students in 2021 to 2,006 in 2025, according to Public School Review data. Its design capacity is 2,090.
Principal Carin Hetzler-Nettles leads the campus, which serves grades 9-12 as part of Pasco County Schools. The Coyotes' colors are green and yellow.
The growth mirrors a broader trend across east Pasco. District projections show more than 4,000 additional students will eventually fall within Wesley Chapel-area high school boundaries as planned housing developments are built out. A new medical magnet high school in Wesley Chapel, targeted to open in August 2028, is part of the district's response to that pressure.
Wesley Chapel High also hosting orientation the same day
Families with incoming freshmen at Wesley Chapel High School have a parallel event the same morning. "Wildcat ROAR" runs July 30 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Wesley Chapel High cafeteria at 30651 Wells Road.
The morning begins with a brief parent meeting before students move to the gym for orientation activities. Each student receives a WCHS T-shirt and a school supply bag, and pizza lunch is provided at noon. Pickup begins at 12:30 p.m.
The registration deadline for Wildcat ROAR was July 17. Families who missed it can call Wesley Chapel High at 813-794-8700 to check availability.
