Culver's plans third area location on SR-52 in San Antonio

Culver's is preparing to open a third area restaurant at 30203 State Road 52 in San Antonio. The location will put the chain closer to thousands of residents in communities north of Wesley Chapel who have had to drive to Lutz or the Shops at Wiregrass for a ButterBurger.

No opening date set yet

The chain's official restaurant page lists the San Antonio site as "Coming Soon" but does not name an opening date. The restaurant's Facebook page says to stay tuned for a grand opening announcement.

Third location joins growing SR-52 corridor

The new restaurant sits next to a Taco Bell under construction on the same stretch of SR-52, The Wesley Chapel Loop reported Aug. 31. That report described the San Antonio location as the chain's third in the area, following earlier openings near Costco in Lutz and near the Shops at Wiregrass in Wesley Chapel.

Communities north of Wesley Chapel gain closer option

Residents of Epperson, Mirada, WaterGrass and Pasadena Hills have had to drive south to reach one of those two locations. The SR-52 site puts the restaurant within a few minutes of several master-planned communities that have added thousands of rooftops in recent years.

Chain plans 14 more Florida openings in 2026

The East Pasco Chamber of Commerce welcomed Culver's as a new member on Instagram. The chamber said the chain plans to open 14 new Florida locations in 2026. Culver's, based in Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin, operated 1,000 restaurants in 26 states as of early 2025.

Corridor sees surge of new development

The SR-52 corridor around San Antonio is in the middle of a commercial building wave. A San Antonio community website corridor map published Aug. 2 counts roughly 9,500 homes and apartments planned outside Mirada alone. Brands including Walmart, Wawa, Panera Bread, Chipotle and McDonald's are among the names tied to the nearby Abbey Crossings mixed-use development at I-75 and SR-52, according to North Tampa Buzz.
