Bubbakoo's Burritos opened its Wesley Chapel location Sept. 16 at 33791 Wesley Chapel Blvd. near Summertree Plaza.
The fast-casual restaurant sits next to O'Reilly Auto Parts in new buildings just south of The Hub at Lexington, according to North Tampa Buzz. It is the New Jersey-based chain's second Pasco County spot, joining an existing Zephyrhills location, and its 18th in Florida, according to the Business Observer. The Wesley Chapel restaurant is locally owned and operated, though the franchisee has not been publicly identified.
Menu blends Mexican flavors with build-your-own options
The menu focuses on Mexican fusion. Signature items include a hibachi steak and shrimp burrito, a Birria Crunchstack, a crispy Buffalo chicken quesadilla, a Nashville hot chicken burrito and loaded tots. Customers can also build their own burrito, bowl, quesadilla or salad. Options include eight proteins, two vegetarian or vegan bases, toppings such as brown rice and corn salsa, and eight sauces including ghost pepper and Sriracha ranch. The full menu is available at bubbakoos.com/menu.
To mark the grand opening, the first 30 customers who made a qualifying purchase received one free burrito per month for a year, according to a company press release.
"We're thrilled to expand upon the 17 existing Bubbakoo's locations in Florida and welcome the Wesley Chapel community to the brand," CEO Chris Ives said in the press release.
Fall menu items and loyalty perks roll out this month
New fall additions already on the menu include fried cauliflower, available as both a starter and a protein option, and apple pie egg rolls. Through September, Bubbakoo's Rewards members can earn 15 bonus BubbaKoin on qualifying visits and a free entrée after their fourth visit as part of the chain's Season Ticket loyalty promotion.
