The former Beef O'Brady's at 27315 Wesley Chapel Blvd. has become an Irish pub with a full-liquor bar, daily specials and a menu built around dishes like Irish stew with Guinness in a garlicky sourdough bread bowl.
1916 Irish Pub opened in the Towne Centre at Wesley Chapel plaza, at the intersection of Wesley Chapel Boulevard and Old Pasco Road. The shopping center, formerly anchored by a Winn-Dixie grocery store, is home to the fourth location of the locally owned Tampa Bay pub brand, which also operates in Brandon, Plant City and Lakeland.
Owner Chuck Jamieson runs the four pubs alongside business partner Duke Mendel, according to the 1916 Irish Pub website. Jamieson also owns Second Plate Catering, a separate catering operation.
"We want to be your neighborhood hangout," Jamieson told the Neighborhood News. "Come give us a try!"
The Wesley Chapel location marks the brand's first restaurant in Pasco County.
Irish Stew and Reuben Sandwiches Headline the Menu
Jamieson said his goal was to create an Irish pub with an upgraded menu. Dishes sampled by the Neighborhood News include haddock fish and chips, the Rebel's Reuben (corned beef, sauerkraut, melted Swiss cheese and house-made Thousand Island dressing), and Irish stew served in a garlicky sourdough bread bowl with marinated braised beef slow-cooked in red wine, Guinness and house-made demi-glace, topped with mashed potatoes. Other items include a bruschetta appetizer with melted mozzarella, an Irish Lamb Jam gyro-style sandwich and a meat lover's flatbread.
The pub has a full-liquor bar and multiple beers on tap.
Weekly Deals Include $6.99 Burgers and $3 Mimosas

- Wednesday: Trivia night and $6.99 wings
- Saturday and Sunday: $3 mimosas at brunch
Live Music and More Events Planned
The pub held a grand opening celebration June 24. Jamieson said live music and additional events are in the works, though no specific dates have been announced.
