Cypress Creek High School students in the Conservatory of the Arts can earn college credit in five arts disciplines through an expanded dual enrollment partnership with Pasco-Hernando State College.

The school announced the partnership in its Community Howler Hub newsletter published Nov. 6. Under the arrangement, PHSC is reserving seats at its Instructional Performing Arts Center specifically for Cypress Creek Conservatory students. The IPAC sits at 8657 Old Pasco Road, adjacent to the high school campus.

Applications close Dec. 1.

Spring 2027 dual enrollment applications are due Dec. 1, 2026, the school said. Students who apply after that date will not be permitted to enroll until the following semester.

What's available

The partnership covers college-level coursework in music, dance, theatre, visual arts and digital media. Spring 2027 classes listed on the school's course documents include:

  • Theatre: Theatre Appreciation, Script Analysis, Play Production I, Stagecraft II, Acting II and others, ranging from one to three credits per course
  • Dance: Contemporary Styles I, Ballet I and Dance Composition, each worth two credits
  • Visual arts and digital media: Digital Illustration, Digital Imaging Fundamentals and Basic Video Editing, each worth three credits
  • Music: Music Theory and Musicianship, Class Piano, Class Guitar and Music Appreciation

The spring 2027 term runs Jan. 11 through May 3, 2027. The school describes the credit as free for participating students.

How to sign up

New dual enrollment students must complete an online application at PHSC's admissions portal. The school directs students to meet with their high school counselor first to confirm eligibility, review test-score requirements and discuss scheduling.

The IPAC is a 35,947-square-foot PHSC facility with a 444-seat auditorium, practice rooms, a dance studio and a video production studio. The center accommodates joint-use opportunities for the community and Pasco County School District students, according to PHSC.

Families can find eligibility details and course pathways on Cypress Creek's dual enrollment fine arts webpage.
