Wesley Chapel families can trick-or-treat in broad daylight Saturday, Oct. 10, when the annual Candy Crawl returns to The Shops at Wiregrass.
The free event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the open-air shopping center at 28211 Paseo Drive. Local businesses and organizations will hand out candy and treats, and free trick-or-treat bags will be available for children while supplies last, according to the Shops at Wiregrass event page.
No ticket is required.
More than trick-or-treating
The Candy Crawl will also feature a Touch-a-Truck display, crafts, games, live entertainment, a Monster Bouncer and a Not-So-Spooky Haunted Obstacle Course.
Families can participate in a scavenger hunt for a prize, while a costume swap and donation station will give attendees a chance to drop off or pick up gently used costumes.
Free pumpkins will also be available for children to decorate while supplies last, according to Fun 4 Tampa Kids.
Costumes are encouraged but not required.
Costume contests will include categories for children, families, pets and groups. Registration will take place at the Tampa Bay Moms Group and Fun 4 Tampa Kids table near the stage.
Event supports Tampa Bay families
The Candy Crawl is organized in partnership with Tampa Bay Moms Group and Fun 4 Tampa Kids and benefits TBMG Cares Inc., a nonprofit that supports Tampa Bay-area families and the broader community.
Tampa Bay Moms Group founder Steffany Rodriguez-Neely, a mother of six, described how the organization has expanded beyond its original focus on connecting mothers in a May profile by Tampa Bay Parenting.
Families do not need tickets to attend the Candy Crawl. Those who register through Eventbrite can enter event giveaways.
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, at The Shops at Wiregrass, 28211 Paseo Drive in Wesley Chapel.
