Young entrepreneurs and performers take center stage Saturday, Oct. 17, at Avalon Park Wesley Chapel's Fall Fest.

The daylong festival runs from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at 4424 Friendly Way, the same address that hosts Avalon Park's regular Downtown Saturday Market. Higher Growth Journey Foundation & Enterprises, a Wesley Chapel-based organization founded by Denisse Heimbach, is presenting the event in partnership with the Avalon Park community.

The morning opens with a Young Entrepreneur Spotlight from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Kids check in at 9:30 a.m., then take the stage to pitch their businesses to the crowd. The organizer's event page describes the spotlight as a chance for young business owners to build confidence and develop public speaking skills in front of their neighbors. Recognition awards include Best Overall Business and a Community Impact Award.

A Youth Talent Show follows from noon to 2 p.m. Singers, dancers, musicians and other performers ages 5 to 17 will compete for cash prizes: $75 for first place, $50 for second and $25 for third. Judges score creativity, presentation, stage presence and overall performance, according to the organizer.

Beyond the competitions, the festival includes a pumpkin patch, food trucks and vendors. A kids zone offers free bounce houses, and live music runs through the day. A kids market operates through the evening until the festival closes at 9 p.m.

The organizer is still accepting applications for the talent show, judges and volunteers. Volunteer roles include setup, guest assistance, activities and talent support. Vendor spaces are limited.

The Avalon Park community calendar promotes the event as a full day of family activities. Whether admission is free or ticketed is not listed in any public materials for the festival.

The Fall Fest is a separate event from the Wesley Chapel Fall Festival at The Grove, scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 24, through Sunday, Oct. 25.
