Refining ballot deadline and early voting sections.

Pasco County, which governs Wesley Chapel, will mail more than 47,000 vote-by-mail ballots Thursday, Sept. 24, to voters who already have requests on file for the Nov. 3 general election.

Supervisor of Elections Brian Corley announced the mailing on his office's website. That total is up from the more than 35,000 ballots his office mailed July 9 for the Aug. 18 primary election.

How to request a mail ballot

Voters who have not yet requested a mail ballot have until 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, to do so. Requests can be made online at PascoVotes.gov, by phone at 352-521-4323 or 800-851-8754, or by submitting a written request on the state's vote-by-mail request form, available on the website.

Written requests must include the voter's Florida driver's license number, Florida ID number or the last four digits of their Social Security number, along with date of birth, Pasco County residence address and signature.

Ballots for uniformed and overseas citizens were mailed Sept. 18.

Deadlines for returning completed ballots

Completed ballots must reach the supervisor of elections office by 7 p.m. Nov. 3, Election Day. That deadline is firm. Voters can hand-deliver ballots to any of the county's three elections offices or drop them off at early voting sites. Ballots cannot be turned in at polling places on Election Day.

The U.S. Postal Service cannot forward mail ballots. Voters who will be outside Pasco County can have a ballot sent to a temporary address if they update their mailing information when requesting it.

Voters can also pick up a ballot in person at any elections office starting Sept. 24. In-person pickup ends when the mandatory early voting period begins Saturday, Oct. 24.

Early voting and free rides to polls

Early voting runs Oct. 19 through Nov. 1, according to the Avalon Park Wesley Chapel voter guide.

On Election Day, GoPasco bus service will offer free rides to the polls from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Riders need a valid voter information card. In an Aug. 14 announcement of the program, Corley called the partnership with GoPasco an example of "good government."

Voters with questions can call the supervisor of elections office at 800-851-8754 or visit PascoVotes.gov.
