Cypress Creek High School will host HowlFest, a Halloween trick-or-treat event for families, on Friday, Oct. 23 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Wesley Chapel campus.
All proceeds benefit the school's Conservatory of the Arts, which houses programs including band, orchestra and guitar, dance, theatre, photography and digital arts, and journalism.
The evening pairs live performances by Cypress Creek's band, orchestra, theatre and dance students with hands-on activities including pumpkin painting, face painting, coloring and a "spooky stroll," according to the school's event announcement. Food, candy and a night football game round out the schedule.
Each adult ticket purchased includes one free HowlFest ticket for an elementary-aged student. Students are encouraged to wear costumes. Ticket details are available on the Cypress Creek High School website.
The fundraiser comes during a strong stretch for the school's arts programs. The Cypress Creek Band of Coyotes earned first place at the Florida Federation of Colorguards Circuit (FFCC) Gaither Competition and a top-10 finish at the Lions Pride Competition at King High School in early October, as we reported Oct. 14. The band program has earned top ratings at Florida Bandmasters Association events and FFCC competitions since its founding in 2017.
Pasco-Hernando State College (PHSC) is also partnering with the Conservatory to offer dual-enrollment fine arts classes for Conservatory students. Enrollment for spring courses closes Dec. 1.
